t’s time to sign up for League Play for the Fall!
Chapel Hill Pickleball Competitive Ladder Leagues will resume in September. You will have three choices.
Monday Intermediate: outdoors Ephesus 6-9pm (cap of 55 players)
Wednesday Advanced: outdoors Ephesus 6-9pm (cap of 55 players)
Wednesday Intermediate to Advanced: indoors Community Center 9:30am-12:30pm (cap 55 players)
As before you will only be able to sign up for one league because of anticipated demand. Intermediate League is for players rated 2.5 – 3.5; Advanced is for 3.5 and above players (not sure of your rating? See http://www.chapelhillpickleball.org/player-rankings/). The top of the intermediate league is competitive with the lower part of the advanced league, so players in that range will get good games on either ladder. Rankings will be based on your previous ladder position or estimated if you are a new player.
Play format will be the same Ladder League format used in previous seasons. Each week players will be placed in a group of four similarly ranked players and during their hour of court time they will play three games with different partners. With the ladder league format you do not have to be available every week, but you should be able to play most all weeks. Game times in evenings will one of 6pm, 7pm, or 8pm each week, and mornings will be 9:30am, 10:30am, 11:30am.
League Play will begin the week of September 9th.
Leagues will conclude November 22nd.

Registration closes September 2 (or when they fill up), so that we can set the leagues up. It’s OK to sign up beyond the cap, it is not uncommon to be able to work some additional players in at the start of the season. We will then create the leagues, and publish them by September 4th. You should receive an email about league play at that time, as well as being able to view the league standings and game schedules then:
