Mixed Doubles Social Play

Our first Friday evening, mixed doubles, social play at our new Ephesus courts last week was a huge success.

“It’s the most fun I’ve ever had playing pickleball”, said Cathy Holt, a player from Pittsboro, who was delighted at the opportunity to play so many games with so many different people. Cathy and 28 other players joined us for two hours of orchestrated, fast-paced social play on our new outdoor courts. (Thanks, Brad!) Afterwards a large number of us met at Time-Out Grill for drinks and eats.

Much revelry and conversation attended this part of our Social Play evening. We had special group seating at the restaurant and a dining discount for our group—arranged by BJ Attwood. Before the meal everyone had the opportunity to introduce themselves to the group. Conversation was brisk and very inclusive. And many connections were formed during the evening. It was FUN!
During the course of the evening there were an incredible number of very positive comments about what a great time people were having. The whole period of evening play had a very different, upbeat feel to it when compared to “normal” play.
If you missed this first Friday evening of social pickleball play followed by dinner with your fellow pickleballers, don’t worry. We will be arranging others such social evenings. We believe the combination of FUN play followed by social interaction offers a compelling appeal that binds our community of players together— while also promoting the game to others.
