Many of you have played Tennis before and have a beautiful long tennis
stroke at the ball. I notice this as a problem especially with the close net
shots and I tell you that this stroke will not serve you well over time.

If you were a golfer and had a 2 foot putt, try taking a long backswing and controlling the impact rather than a compact smooth short stroke to make the putt. Get rid of that long stroke and learn to generate power with your wrist snap, you will be much more accurate, get to the shot faster and generate the spin on the ball that will help make your opponents mumble under their breath. Also I recommend that you wear eye protection so you can watch the ball and have no fear of being hit in the eye. Never take your eyes off the ball, especially when it is hit hard at close quarters. That split second reaction because you are watching the ball can mean the difference between you returning the shot and you getting hit by the shot and losing the point.

Play well, Vance
