Six (6) dedicated outdoor courts are located just behind and to the right of Ephesus School. Use the entrance on right (as you face school from street) and stay to right.  Additional parking behind the school.


Court Use Policy

Parks & Rec may periodically reserve the courts for schedule programs or activities.  Consult our calendar for updated schedules for all venues.

Ephesus courts are currently available for open and scheduled skill based play. Open Play is on a first come first serve basis for singles and doubles.  Paddles are used to queue play on the courts.  Signage is posted with the general rules and recommendations.

If there are players waiting to play then players on each court should rotate off after playing one game to 11 (or for playing for 15 minutes if you prefer to not play a game).   The switch for the lights is on the pole near the tennis courts.


Skill Based Play Schedule:

Monday Evenings 6-9PM – Intermediate Play (Courts 1 through 5 Reserved.  Court 6 for General Open Play)

Tuesday Evenings 6-9PM – Advanced Play (Courts 1 through 5 Reserved. Court 6 is for General Open Play)

Thursday Evenings 6-9PM – Novice/Beginner Play (Courts 1 through 5 Reserved.  Court 6 is for General Open Play)

Southern Community Park currently has five (5) outdoor courts inside of a roller hockey rink using portable nets.  Consult our calendar for updated pickleball opportunities and general schedules for all venues.   Convenient parking, good restroom access and water available all year long.  Just show up and play.

 

Play is managed and staffed by Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation.  They setup the courts and also handle taking down the nets at the end of the scheduled time slot.  They always love help!

Indoor Play Suspended for the Summer (Planned Reopening September 2022)

Three (3) indoor courts at the Community Center.

Enter the Recreation Center and check in at the front desk and pay necessary fees.  Then walk straight through to the gymnasium. If new, ask to speak to one of the coaches.

Play at the Community Center requires mandatory payment of a fee for entry. Fees for Orange County residents are $2/session or $60 annually. For out-of -county residents the fees are $3/session or $96/year.

Open play for all levels of pickleball players. Equipment provided if you don’t have your own.

Water and restrooms, free parking available.
